Typically, the MI+ group’s primary focus was on the ostensible and relational actions taking place within the carefully arranged dispositive of a plurimedial stage set. The methodological deferral and displacement of concerted actions into a context of principle questions of performance thereby reconceptualized the rehearsal. Against its conventional interpretation as an ephemeral prelude to some more specific action, MI+ positions and reframes the rehearsal as the main work of an ongoing recherche de longue durée.
It is in this context, with a strong reverence for procedural questions, that MI+ was formed as performance group in 1996; at its inception there were two members; by 1998 there were four; and in 2003 they disbanded. The group produced 3 programs, while the character of their work changed from 1996: the stage settings became more complex, with more media involved, and a denser action frame.
The three progams were „Am Rande der Zeit“ (2001), „slow space“ (202) and „Der dritte Körper“ (2003) with their most prominent shows held at Saarlandmuseum Saarbrücken, Orangerie Theater Cologne and the Opening! Festival held at Tuchfabrik Trier.
